White-Label Magento & AI Development for Agencies — Nathan McBride

Partner & agency referrals

The Magento & AI bench
you don't have to hire.

White-label Magento 2, Hyvä and AI development for agencies that keep hitting work they can't staff. Your brand or mine, fixed-price scoping, NDA as standard — capacity, not competition.

Who this is for

You keep the client.
I do the build.

Agencies are exiting Magento while the work isn't going anywhere — migrations, rescues, upgrades and now AI builds. That gap is exactly what I staff.

01 / 03

Agencies without a dev team

Marketing, SEO and design agencies whose clients keep asking for Magento work — builds, fixes, integrations — that you currently decline or sub out to whoever answers first.

  • Ecommerce marketing
  • Design studios
  • SEO agencies
02 / 03

Shopify shops turning away Magento

You’re great at Shopify and have no interest in maintaining a Magento capability. Refer the work, collect 10%, and keep the client warm for when they replatform.

  • Shopify-only teams
  • Referral model
  • 10% thank-you

Complementary consultants

Fractional CMOs, CRO consultants and ERP implementers whose recommendations need a safe pair of hands to actually build. I already ship Xero, ERP and search integrations.

  • Fractional CMOs
  • CRO consultants
  • ERP implementers
How it works

Two ways to work together.

Pick per project — some partners white-label the retainer work and refer the one-off builds.

White-label

I work under your brand.

  • 01Your PM, your Slack, your ticketing — I slot into the process you already run.
  • 02Fixed-price scoping so you can mark up with confidence before your client sees a number.
  • 03NDA and non-solicitation as standard. Your client never becomes my client.
  • 04Deliverables written to read as your team’s output — estimates, updates, documentation.
Referral

Hand it over, take 10%.

  • 01One intro email and I take it from there — scoping, delivery, the client relationship.
  • 02A standing 10% referral thank-you on the engagement, no negotiation each time.
  • 03Your client gets a senior developer with named-brand case studies, not a mystery subcontractor.
  • 04If they ever need your services again, they hear it from me first.
Why agencies use me

A senior dev your client
would have hired anyway.

The risk with subcontracting is quality you can't vouch for. My track record is public — named-brand case studies you can show your client, not a portfolio of NDAs.

What I take off your plate

Sell it. I'll ship it.

Magento 2 builds, migrations & upgrades

Full builds, M1→M2 and version-to-version migrations, Adobe Commerce upgrades — scoped fixed-price so you can quote your client cleanly.

  • Magento 2
  • Adobe Commerce
  • Migrations
02 / 06

Rescues & performance work

The half-finished build another team walked away from, the store that falls over on sale day. I take over codebases other developers won’t touch.

  • Site rescues
  • Performance
  • Code audits
03 / 06

Hyvä frontend development

Hyvä theme builds and Luma-to-Hyvä conversions — the highest-demand Magento frontend skill and the hardest to hire for.

  • Hyvä
  • Tailwind
  • Alpine.js
04 / 06

AI integrations for commerce

Production AI your agency can sell as its own capability: search and merchandising, product-content pipelines, support automation. Not demos — shipped features.

  • AI search
  • Content pipelines
  • Automation
05 / 06

Laravel & systems integration

Custom middleware, ERP and accounting integrations (Xero and friends), headless APIs — the glue work ecommerce projects always turn out to need.

  • Laravel
  • ERP / Xero
  • APIs
06 / 06

Ongoing retainers

A standing monthly bench for your Magento clients’ support, patches and feature backlog — the arrangement most partner agencies end up on.

  • Support
  • Security patches
  • Feature work
FAQ

The questions agencies
ask first.

Missing one? Ask in the form — I reply within a working day.

01Do you ever contact our client directly?
Not unless you ask me to. On white-label work, all client communication runs through you — I write updates, estimates and technical explanations in a form you can forward under your own name. Your client relationship stays yours, permanently. I will never pitch, upsell or take a client of yours direct.
02How does white-label communication work day to day?
Whatever fits your process: your Slack, your Jira or Trello, your standups, your PM. I can work under an agency email address if you issue one. Code, tickets and documentation are written so they read as your team’s output — no branding, no watermarks.
03How is pricing and scoping handled?
Fixed-price scoping wherever the work can be defined — you get a number you can mark up and put in front of your client with confidence. For ongoing or ambiguous work, a monthly retainer with an agreed hour band. Either way you see the cost before your client does.
04What’s the referral arrangement?
If you’d rather hand the client over than manage the work, I pay a standing 10% referral thank-you on the engagement. One intro email is all it takes — I handle scoping, delivery and the relationship from there.
05Can you work UK hours?
Yes. I’m Melbourne-based with UK clients (BrandAlley, Daylesford) and structure overlap deliberately. For UK agencies the timezone is an asset: briefs sent at your end of day come back worked overnight.
06Do you sign NDAs?
Yes — NDA and non-solicitation as standard, yours or mine. White-label only works if you can trust it completely, so I’m happy to formalise whatever gives you and your client comfort.

Tell me about the work you're turning away.

A rough brief is fine — the stack, the client, the deadline. I'll come back within one working day with how I'd scope it, white-label or referral.
