Privacy policy.
Plain-English, because that's how I work. Last updated 15 July 2026.
Who I am
Upturn Studio is the trading name of Nathan McBride, a freelance developer based in Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains what personal information I collect through upturnstudio.com.au, why, and what happens to it.
What I collect
If you use the contact form, I collect what you type in: your name, email address, phone number (optional), company name, and your project brief. That's it — there are no accounts and nothing is collected silently through the form.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, rough location, device type). Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data on Google's servers, which may be outside Australia. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies.
How I use your information
To reply to your enquiry, scope your project, and keep a record of our correspondence. I don't sell your data, add you to mailing lists you didn't ask for, or share it with third parties except the service providers that run this site (hosting, email delivery).
Retention
Enquiries are kept while they're relevant to a current or prospective engagement, then deleted. You can ask me to delete your details at any time.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information I hold about you. Email me and I'll sort it — usually within a few days, not statutory maximums.
